On a trip to the Great Helmsman's birth place Shaoshan 韶山 in Hunan 湖南 province I discovered this little gem. You can actually find this sign in the area of 毛泽东同志纪念馆 (Museum of Comrade Mao). With huge crowds of constantly spitting Chinese tourists in the background I had to grin a lot.

This time it's my turn to say "I remember this one..." :-) I was so busy trying not to laugh that I didn't have the chance to take a picture. Luckily, Olli did!
By the way, I do not think Chinglish will be vanishing so quickly. The Olympics are not going to take place all over China... and the Chinese are pragmatic after all!
I hope you're right, Cora, since I can very well imagine an Olympic contest in Shaoshan named "extreme Mao statue building" or so...

It's a very Chinese sign. Why do I have to be reminded of visiting in a civilized manner and not to throw around my garbage?
Before translating you have to ask yourself what "civilized manner" could mean in the context of a museum, for example to keep your voice down.
Suggestion: "Quiet, please." And:
"Please don't litter."
