Posting from Germany.

Fellow Chinglish friends,

for the past few weeks it was almost impossible to post or moderate comments. Blogger blocked, Google blocked, Youtube blocked...

(Note to Internet cops: Guys, this is still the wrong way of doing it.)

Hope you continue your support while I figure out what technical solutions to use in the coming months.

Best from Heidelberg,

olr.

There is a fact that not all the Chinese people have the ability to resist the bad things on the web, especially for the children. Also they can be exploited or tricked by some evil persons. So we must protect our people, but because our ability is limited, the best way is the censorship till now. I have to say that we can do nothing until we have a better way to filter the bad things on the web.
Remember: It is a fact that Chinese people are sometimes so clever that they can think about many tricks.

Language is pretty tricky. When somebody created the word 'blog', he or she may not have thought about it more carefully, in that 'blog' and 'block' are very much similar in shape and sound. It is not out of confusion that a 'blog' is 'blocked', or a 'blogged' writing is 'blocked' for its writing, we could only hope.

Good luck in your endeavour.

A passer by who browsed one of your books in Chapters today.

Zhang Fang,
Did you actually mean that the people out side of China have the ability to resist the bad things on the web? Why should China be different from the rest of the world? It is worldwide well-known that the censorship on the internet in China is mainly done for political reasons. Some "clever" Chinese people can actually get around the censorship to see the real contents on the internet. Among those might be some children you mentioned about too, who are meant to be "protected" by the Chinese censorship.

You do know that blogger.com is blocked in China - we can't read your profile page.

Hi, this is something I found yesterday on a bus in Beijing. I felt puzzled after reading its Chinese meaning. Following is the sentence on Yuntong No. 108(公交车:运通108)。

"请您主动为老幼病残孕让座" ----Please Take the Initiative for Bringing Invalidity Preganant Parks.

Hello ! I live in Beijing and I would like to ask you some questions on your book and about the chinglish phenomenon in general. Do you have an e-mail where I could write you too and send you my questions? All the best. Lily
