Back to work.
After the recent media exposure - I still get at least one reporter knocking on my virtual door a day - I return to what this site is all about, preserving the beloved beauty of Chinglish.
Irene has recently sent me this one from a "nice Sichuan restaurant at the corner of Chengdu Rd and Weihai Rd" in Shanghai 上海 .
Before someone starts complaining: There's nothing wrong with the piece.
夫妻 - fu1qi1 - man and wife
肺 - fei4 - lung
片 - pian4 - slice (in the meat 肉 rou4 context)
"What are you having? I think I'll go for the ..." Tasty.
Thanks Irene!

How to translate name of the food is really a big problem...
who knows the right translation? tell us.
hi 纪韶融, in my city Nanjing ,there are also many places where chinglish exist. I think we must correct it . I like your blog very much.
This one is quite funy. This dish is a traditional SICHUAN(四川)cuisine. "Man and Wife" here means "couple" in Chinese, nothing to do with the lung, just like a brand. Mabybe someday there will be a dish called "Brother lung" haha
哈哈,这种东西要是直译,会吓坏人的。。。
Really disgusted, which pig's head translated it
