Fake or no fake?

I've received the following picture several times during the last fews days.

It is obviously a Beijing branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. As the sign states, the "male" branch is on Beichen Rd. 北辰路, which - with a little research - actually is Beichen East Rd. no. 8 北辰东路8号汇欣大厦1层, phone number is 84980594.

I am asking a favor of you Beijing netizens! Could anyone of you venture out and take a large size picture of it to make sure this is not a fake?

If this turns out to be real, I'll get in touch with them and will further report on this matter here on Chinglish.de.

Hope to hear from a helping hand real soon!

Update Aug 15:

My private eye Silvano took a picture of the branch plate this afternoon. He writes:
In front of the bank there were a whole bunch of old people, men and women, supposedly all stock holders, waiting for the door to open. At 8:30, the sun was already glaring. Note that the two plates differ drastically. My guess is that there has been a replacement.
Looks like they've figured it out themselves. So it's hard to tell whether or not "male service" was genuine. Many thanks, my friend!

Hi There,
It's very very funny to see this.... I never thought it would be this laughably, HUH... I laughed a lot about this ANUS Hospital, and "Don't forget your thing", huh, As a native person I really think all these stuff should be reserved. HUH... No one expects that Chinese should speak English as well as Englishers, right?

I am asking a favor of you Beijing netizens! Could anyone of you venture out and take a large size picture of it to make sure this is not a fake?
If this turns out to be real, I'll get in touch with them and will further report on this matter here on Chinglish.de.

Feel free to contact me, if you need help about this. I'll be glad to give a hand. :)

Kennen Sie vielleicht "Good good study, day day up(好好学习,天天向上)", welches sehr weit verbreitet in meiner Schulzeit war.

Es gibt noch Englisch-lernende, die Englisch mit solchem Wortgeklingel lernen:"来是come去是go,点头yes摇头no"

In fact, the PRC goverment should ask some foreigners who's mother lanuage is English for help.
I think they will easily find out the English words which in the board are right or error!
In my opinion, all Chinlish is because of the Chinese education.Only know recite words, noly for exam, not use.

p.s.

I have seen your story in the newspaper of Nan Fang Zhou Mo(南方周末)on 9 Aug.
(No Translation or Server Error)。
还有个A time sex thing-一次性用品。

lol

仔细看了博客整体感觉来说,最受不了的就是把 干 to translate FUCK & 性 to translate SEX.It's so funny.

To be honest, I feel that the stuff here is not as much as I expected. It is of course due to your listed reasons, more or less.

Anyway, you have done a great job. As you can easily find out, many chinese guys are quite with you. Plus, you foreigers always have a bigger voice than we Chinese natives in the eyes of the CCP government officers. They hesitate to "lose face" in front of you guys rather than us average citizens. You're actually doing a favor to our nation regardless of your initial motivation. Thanks a lot.

Hi olr, thank you for your creating this webpage. I hope you'll keep working on this and hope this webiste will gain better visibility in the future hence those who should be concerned (e.g., me) will get help from here. :-)

Most of your posts are about signs. Here is a real life story which is not about a sign, but a speech (sort of...). There was a Chinese guy studying in a university in Canada. When his program was going to end, he wanted to say thank-you to his supervisor. One of the points he wanted to make was:

By that he meant that the supervisor gave him lots of useful tips about how to work as a team and such, as well as academic supervision.

And what he wrote on the draft of the speech was:

"I feel so lucky to have Dr.P as my advisor. He not only teached me how to do the reasearch, but also teach me how to do a man. "

Good thing is that this guy was aware of the limit of his English; therefore he asked a friend to proofread his draft. So the Chiglish version of the draft was not offially released :-)
